When will I get a decision?

When filing a new claim or supplemental claim, you can expect to receive a decision in 6–12 months, sometimes sooner. If you have had a Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA) hearing, the decision timeline is determined by the assigned Veterans Law Judge. While decisions are often issued within 8–12 months after a hearing, some cases may take significantly longer. All decisions are made in order of appeal date, not hearing date.
