Jan Dils and husband Chuck Hughes formed the Jan Dils Foundation as a way to give back to the community and fund a number of charitable causes. One way these funds are used is for the Jan Dils Foundation Scholarship, which is awarded to Veterans or family members of Veterans. In keeping with the firm’s core value of Community, this scholarship will continue in perpetuity to support our Veterans and their families. The Jan Dils Foundation Scholarship for Veteran Recipients is administered through the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation’s online consolidated application process.

Eligibility

• The scholarship is open to any high school senior, college student, or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States and living in the U.S. The student also must be enrolled in a two – five year post-secondary institution for the Spring semester.
• Employees of Jan Dils Attorneys at Law, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), as well as those living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not), are not eligible to participate in the competition.
• Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good academic standing.
• This scholarship is only open to Active Duty military personnel, Veterans, or children/dependents of an Active Duty personnel or Veteran.

Application Deadline and Instructions:

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must submit their application by February 1st. Any applications sent after this date will not be considered.
