What is UNDERINSURED MOTORISTS COVERAGE?

In a motor vehicle claim for injuries, the other driver may not be sufficiently insured to compensate you for your injuries sustained in an auto accident. For instance, under West Virginia Law, a driver is only required to carry auto insurance liability coverage in the amount of $25,000 per person. This amount may not be enough to cover all of your damages. You should elect to have underinsured motorists coverage on your policy for a minimal increase in premium which serves as a supplement to the other drivers insurance.
