One of our firm’s attorneys and former Offensive Lineman John Weber was inducted into the Parkersburg High School Big Red Football Hall of Fame on September 3rd, 2021. Here are some highlights and a look back on his career.
In his football career, John Weber played offensive lineman for three years and graduated from Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, West Virginia. His accomplishments prove that he is a man on a mission. He was a two-time All American in football, as well as an active member of the swim team during that time, ensuring that his health and conditioning stay in peak form year-round. Weber also moved from playing offensive lineman to middle linebacker and earned the second-highest number of tackles at his school. Considering he was 6’4, 225 pounds, it’s incredible that his conditioning stayed in top form.
Weber did not stop after graduation – he is a man consumed by a desire to achieve. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and was scouted and picked to play football at Colgate University in New York. In this position, Weber was able to continue his career by being a starter in 38 games as an offensive lineman. As a senior, he earned the position of team captain and led his team to the NCAA championship and the quarterfinals of the NCAA Football Championship Series playoffs to close out his football career.
What is even more impressive is that Weber is not only a machine on the football field, but he is also a practicing lawyer. As previously mentioned, he was in the National Honors Society and earned excellent grades while balancing his sports career with academics.
After completing his football career, he had his sights set on the next target. He became a student attorney and then proceeded to enroll in West Virginia University College of Law in hopes of attaining his JD Degree – another goal he has since achieved. He is currently a practicing personal injury attorney for Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law, and acknowledges his mother as the reason he is a lawyer today.
