Have you recently experienced an injury from your Bissell product? Read to confirm if you are eligible to receive a full refund, or should file a defective products lawsuit. Bissell has issued an immediate recall for over 3.5 million Steam Shot Handheld Steam Cleaners in the U.S. and Canada combined.
Information released by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has shown at least 183 reports regarding the escape of hot water and steam while the Bissell steam cleaner is in use. This poses the potential risk for consumers to experience harmful burns. On top of the reported defects, it was also disclosed that there were 157 minor burn injury cases.
The recall includes Bissell Steam Shot Handheld Steam Cleaners models labeled as “steam short” or “power steamer.” To confirm if your model type is included in the recall refund, locate a matching printed label on the side of the device or look for the model series numbers 39N and 2994. You can find these numbers through the product rating label at the bottom of the unit.
The specified models were available for in-person purchase from Target, Walmart, and other department stores nationwide, in various colors, including green, blue, pink, white, orange, black, red, and purple. Consumers were also able to obtain Bissell products through online sites including www.bissell.com, Amazon, HSN, and others, between the dates August 2008 through May 2024.
