January’s winner, Caitlin Stewart, is a first-grade teacher at Neale Elementary in Vienna, West Virginia. Caitlin has been teaching for six years, and parents are pleased by the fact that she takes the extra step of keeping them informed about students’ grades and progress in the classroom.
In an interview with WTAP, Caitlin said, “Some days are going to be really challenging, but you have to push through those days and look at the big picture of it and see how rewarding it can be. Each year there’s something special that happens that sticks with me and motivates me to be a better teacher.”
